Basak Sigorta A.S. which was founded under the leadership of the T.C. Ziraat Bankas� in 1959 and Basak Emeklilik A.S. which was founded as a partnership between T.C. Ziraat Bankas� A.S. and Basak Sigorta A.S. on 17 December 1997 under the name of Basak Hayat Sigorta A.S. were acquired in 2006 by Groupama, a powerful European multinational insurance group.

Headquartered in Istanbul, the company has a broad network of more than 2 000 agencies, all over Turkey.

The companies are now operating under the names of;

Basak Groupama Sigorta A.S. => Licenced to underwrite medical and all other non-life insurances

Basak Groupama Emeklilik A.S. => Licenced to underwrite Life & Personal Accident insurances and pension plans


Goals & Market position
Basak Groupama aims to grow during the following five years to step among the top five companies in elementary insurance as Basak Groupama Sigorta (ranked 8th in non-life market as of 09/2007) and become the leader in the life category as Basak Groupama Emeklilik (ranked 2nd in life market as of 09/2007 with 15,10% market share).

The basic goal is to secure a high ranking among the most admired, trusted, and preferred companies in Turkey by ensuring a sustainable confidence.

Basak Groupama Service Concept

The Basak Groupama service concept is based on "closeness" and "responsibility". "Closeness" will be ensured by being right beside the customers with a broad agency network and finding solutions to their requirements in the shortest possible time; and "responsibility" will consist of increasing the proficiency and technical capacity of the staff and developing synergies with Groupama in order to grow with profitability as well as taking social responsibilities in issues of close interest to the society.

Being among the leaders in Europe and giving special importance to Basak Groupama within the framework of its strategic plans, Groupama has let its own brand name be preceded by an acquired brand in its logo for the first time ever.

Groupama authorities consider the decision to acquire Basak Sigorta and Basak Emeklilik as a consciously made choice. Both the Groupama and the Basak brands have their origins in the agricultural industry. Basak Groupama Sigorta operates through its General Directorate and the Central, Kad�k�y and Bak�rk�y Regional Directorates in Istanbul; the Regional Directorates in Ankara, Izmir, Bursa, Antalya, Adana, and Trabzon; and the Branch Office in Cyprus while Basak Groupama Emeklilik provides service through its General Directorate in Istanbul; the Regional Directorates in Ankara and Izmir; and its Regional Representatives in Bursa and Adana not to mention a broad network of agencies.

ŞİRKETİMİZ TARİHÇESİ

Basak Emeklilik A.Ş, 19 Aralık 1997 tarihinde kurulmuş, 28 Ocak 1998 tarihinde Hayat, Sağlık ve Bedeni Kaza branşlarında çalışma ruhsatı alarak faaliyete başlamıştır.

Basak Emeklilik, özel sigortaların, sosyal güvenlik sistemini gerçek anlamda tamamlayıcı bir rol üstlenecekleri döneme kadar kesintisiz bir hazırlık süreci içinde bulunarak, müşteri merkezli pazarlama faaliyetleri çerçevesinde çalışmalarını yürütmeyi amaçlamaktadır.
