Groupama Insurance Company
Groupama Insurance Company was originally founded under the
name Eur�pa Insurance Co. by the French financial holding GAN
(Groupe des Assurances Nationales) in 1990. The firm started
its business activity on the Hungarian insurance market in 1991
with a composite permission. In the more than 10 years since it
foundation, the company has been working permanently on the
development of its product portfolio. A wide range of products
have been developed both for business organisations and
individuals.
After a long preparation period the privatisation of the
state-owned financial holding GAN took place in 1998. In the
privatisation of international interest the French Groupama has
succeeded. The newly formed company has become the second
largest insurance firm in France and it will be a major force
in Europe too.
The Groupama operation in Hungary
The premium income of the company is HUF 2,3 billion of that
0,8 billion HUF in life and 1,5 billion HUF in non-life
business. Groupama Insurance Company has a central staff of 80
and a network of appr. 400 agents.

As a fully licensed insurance firm Groupama has both life and
non life products in its portfolio.
