VITOSHA-LIFE Insurance Company is established on December 14, 1992. It is entered in the registry of Court of town Sofia, firm department, with decision on case No 6732/1993 under account No 8605, volume 129, p.I, page 184.

VITOSHA-LIFE Insurance company is licensed as Insurer with Permission for insurance activity No 27 of 10.08.1998 of the National Insurance council.

The head office of the corporation is at address Sofia town, district "Oborishte", 8 Iskar street.

Share capital is 2 million levs and is distributed between 69 shareholders. The main share holder of the corporation is Insurance and Reinsurance Corporation "Vitosha" holder of 99% of the shares. The rest of shareholders are physical persons.

The major shareholders of Insurance and Reinsurance Corporation "Vitosha" are EQUEST – an investment fund listed on the Dublin and Vienna Stock Exchanges and UNIQA - the largest insurance group in Austria and one of the leading insurance groups in Central Europe. The group includes over 25 insurance companies in 16 European countries and it generates total portfolio premiums of EUR 4.3 billion.

UNIQA has the right to control Vitosha Insurance Plc entirely outright. By the end of 2007 UNIQA will acquire 51 % of the capital of Vitosha Insurance Plc and by 2011 UNIQA will gradually acquire 100 % of the capital of the company.

UNIQA has one of the most extensive service and marketing networks, and has received an international financial strength rating "A" from Standard & Poor’s for many years.

UNIQA will provide Vitosha Insurance Plc with additional value for better service of the company’s customers.

Since its establishment to the moment the company grows at stabile rates and strengthen its position between the first six life insurance corporations, having market share of about 6.23 %. Insurance community includes over 185 000 insured persons in 2005.

Financial policy of the corporation is aimed at maximal insurance of the interests of customers. The fundamental part of insurance reserves – over 90% are invested in state securities and the rest are in bank deposits. Half of the assets of own capital are invested in real estates and lands, the other half is in bank deposits, participation in other corporations etc.
